Brown Ale

An ale with a deep brown tone, this is our version of a traditional British style, balanced toward the malt (three of the varieties used are imported), this ale exhibits classic ale smoothness. This brew went in to hibernation in the Spring of 2009.

  • 2004 World Beer Cup - Bronze
  • 2007 Beverage Testing Institute World Beer Championships (85 - Silver)

Recipe:

Squash w/Brown Ale Maple Glaze

  • 5 C of diced squash of your choice seeded & peeled (probably not spaghetti squash tho)
  • 3 T butter
  • 3 T dark maple syrup or molasses
  • 1/3 C of Brown Ale
  • Salt & Pepper to taste

Steam squash over boiling water until almost tender, about 20-25 minutes. Brown butter in large skillet over low heat. Add squash, maple syrup, and brown ale. Stir & cook until tender. Season with salt & pepper. Yields 6-8 servings.
